Enrollment Process

The MEC admissions protocol is designed to give parents the opportunity to become thoroughly familiar with the school, its philosophy, and academic services prior to their making an enrollment decision.

Tour: Parents of prospective students are invited to visit the     school and observe students and teachers at work in the classroom.  This visit includes a tour of the facility and a 30 - 45 minute classroom observation to aid parents in making their enrollment decision.
Application: Upon completion of the tour and a mandatory classroom observation, parents complete a waiting pool application and submit it to the office.
Student Interview: Upon receipt of the completed application, the Head of School will schedule an interview for the child.  This is a required step in the admission process.  Teachers use this interview to determine the child's readiness for the program and class placement.  After the initial interview, elementary aged children will spend a 1/2 trial day working in the classroom environment to acquaint them with materials and procedures.  This time also allows the child the opportunity to become familiar with the school.  In all cases, child readiness should include full toilet training.
Acceptance/Invitation: Once school personnel and parent/guardian have agreed that the child is ready for the Montessori experience, the family of the child will receive an acceptance letter and a registration packet for completion and submission.
