A Growing Community
Montessori Educational Center has a rich history in Central Louisiana. Since opening its doors to six primary-aged children in 1978, the school has continued to add capacity.
In the last five years, enrollment has increased by 21%. By 2018, it is expected that MEC will have 200 students enrolled, from toddlers through middle school. Scroll through MEC's annual meeting presentation to better understand the school's growth patterns and needs for additional space.
Increased space is a critical need in the current facility. The Montessori Board of Directors is implementing a capital campaign to augment and renovate the current facility to meet the needs of increasing numbers of students. Plans include expanding current classrooms, adding a new 5000 square foot building to accommodate upper elementary and middle school classrooms, and adding an additional parking area.
The Board is asking for four-year commitments to raise the $500,000 needed to complete these plans.
